Tech TV event: Open Day at iBurbia Studios MediaCity

iBurbia is a facility run by Decipher for reviewing, testing, and researching consumer media and it also hosts workshops and seminars for the TV industry. Join Nigel Walley and his team for a special free event on their first anniversary, to explore a wide array of media devices and services and investigate some insight from Decipher’s research into media usage. It’s free. 2PM: Grab a coffee and explore the media services that iBurbia Studios has to offer. Decipher’s MD Nigel Walley will introduce the tech studio space, and explains the Antenna Programme and then give an overview of the UK TV landscape using the live services available.
3PM: Decipher’s Director of Research Dr. Hamish McPharlin will present findings from their latest consumer tracker Mediabug; exploring how new services such as Sky On Demand, Youview, Netflix and mobile devices are changing consumption behaviour in the home. He will also showcase the research capabilities of iBurbia Studios, from eye-tracking of video viewers to prototyping and testing of next-gen media interfaces.
4PM: Enjoy some drinks and nibbles, and network with other Mediacity folk in the iBurbia Studios space. Get some hands-on time with the latest media devices, from Chromecast to Freesat Freetime to the XBOX One. Meet key Decipher staff responsible for consumer research and media strategy.
